Letting go of what we are not absolutely rings true to me. It’s an inside game. Going back to my values - who I want to be. Not what or who I think the world wants me to be. But uncovering who I really am. “You are the sky. Everything else - it’s just the weather.” Or some excess marble obscuring the view 🌞
thank you for my first introduction to the term fawning. Sometime last year I recognized that I was giving away my power and unnecessarily burdening my peers by seeking their opinions on nearly every idea I had for how to lead our department. And I hadn't always done that. At least in that one space with that particular group, I broke my pattern and now we spend less time talking through my ideas and instead put that energy towards implementing them. They still have opportunity to push back, but it's from knowing I am open to their views without needing to set aside dedicated meeting time for every topic.
What a beautiful notice even before having a term or name to apply to it. This shift is one I’m still trying to implement in life and work. I love what you’ve been able to shift and appreciate your share.

Love that, Jarrod, especially the inside game piece. Thanks for for sharing.

I absolutely love the tying together of Michelangelo’s quote along with our own personal work and growth. What a beautiful, hopeful image.
Thank you as always, love.
